Catfish are known for being more active at night, but a person can still catch one during the day if they know where to let out their line. When the sun is out, a person can find catfish hanging out along the murky waters of the riverbank or the bottom of the lake instead of the middle, clear waters in the center of the lake. Once the sun goes down, these fish tend to be a bit more active. They come out of their caves and hiding places to swim around the lake in search of food. Fishermen that are letting their lines down after sunset are encouraged to stay around the edges of the lake where the water is deeper. The middle of the lake is also a nice option.
